Josh Baldridge – Gretsch Electric Guitars – G5655TG Electromatic Centerblock Junior Single-Cut – Cadillac Green
The smaller size helps it to be a more compliant semi-hollow. The green/gold combination catches the light in an incredible way and the thumbnail inlays are a classy touch.

Jim Baggett – Collings Guitars – 2003 OM42 Baaa A V Sunburst – Used
Handpicked wood by Bill Collings and Bruce Van Wart. Gorgeous guitar.

Eric Putnam – Chase Bliss Audio – AUTOMATONE: Preamp mkII
Super flexible robot pedal! I am a little afraid that it will become sentient and take over my house, but look at those sliders move by themselves! It can be anything from a subtle preamp or all out fuzz. Really fun!

Matt Pelsma – Taylor Acoustic Guitars – 618e V-Class
The is one of the best sounding and looking Taylor guitars I have ever played. The 618e has all the volume you could need with a sweetness in top end plus instant classic looks.

Brian Soden – Collings Electric Guitars – I-35 LC – Black Top
It’s here!! The cousin to my I-35 LC! I bought my I-35 LC with Bigsby back in January and have absolutely fallen in love with it. The ever-so-slightly smaller body on the I-35 is super comfortable to play while sitting compared to other semi-hollow guitars of this style on the market. Plug in and you’ll find that the I-35 allows you to coax out the beautiful traits that a quality tube amp possesses. It’s my favorite thing about these guitars! You can get that nice, pleasant controllable feedback out of a gassed up British amp or rich, textured jazz/blues sounds out of your favorite American clean amp. Shake the Bigsby trem bar over a nice, sustaining chord and you’ll never look back!

Mike Horan – Collings Guitars – 02H Traditional T Series
This little guitar packs a punch. It has quick string response from top to bottom, with a satisfyingly tight bass end. I especially like the vintage-inspired shape of the 14-fret neck which fits the hand like a glove.

Matt Harmon – Keeley Effect Pedals – Super Mod Workstation – Tap Tempo
I really enjoy having a headphone only small pedal board that is easy to take places. I’m limited to only 5 pedals total, so real-estate is a precious commodity. I find myself swapping delays, reverbs, rotory-effects , flangers, phasers, and trems all the time. The Keeley Super MOD Workstation helps with space and gives you multiple great modulation effects all in one pedal. It gives you two different effects on at one time, tap tempo, stereo options, and has the options for expression and tap outs.

Trey Durkin – Ernie Ball Pedals – VP JR Volume Pedal – Passive
This is the most used pedal in my setup. Be in complete control over your sound in the mix, while being able to keep both hands playing on the instrument. It’s also nice that it’s extremely simple and doesn’t require power. If you’ve never used a volume pedal, you should really check one out. You might be surprised at just how useful it is!

Susan Willits – Regal Resonators – 1932 Model 45
I appreciate and am drawn to vintage things: Trucks, barns, furniture, instruments, etc., so naturally I particularly like this Regal Model 45 Resonator guitar. It’s from 1932! This Model 45 is in very good shape and plays quite well. I love the tone of resonator guitars and the nice sonic variety they provide. Grab a piece of history with this one!

Matt Kappenman – Fender Electric Guitars – Vintera 60’s Telecaster Modified – Lake Placid
I’ve really been enjoying these Vintera series models from Fender the past week or so. Classic colors and appointments paired with a few modern touches make these some great players, all for under a thousand bucks!
Some great Fender Guitars in the shop right now!

I am new to Gretsch guitars, but have been playing for a long time.
Recently I acquired a G5655TG and I love it!
The only issue I am having is that it does not stay in tune consistently. It is always slightly off after just a few minutes of playing. All the strings seems to do this, but the “G” string is by far the biggest culprit.
Mind you, I have never owned a Gretsch or a guitar that has a Bibsby on it, for that matter. So maybe it is related to that?
Anyone else have similar issues?
For the record, I am not a heavy handed player per se. Although, I do bend and use vibrato quite a bit. (although not excessively)
Thanks everyone!
Hi Sophia,
It sounds like the guitar could benefit from a setup. Best to check with a local luthier and see if that’s something that they could help you with
