Meeting Eli from Two-Rock was a real revelation. His amps are truly top notch and every little component is intentional. This TS-1 with 2×12 cabinet has my full attention. It sounds positively glorious!

Marnie Orville – Leo Posch Acoustic Guitars – J-M – Sunburst
Once in a while there is a guitar that comes through the shop that I have to make a conscious effort to not sit around and play all day. This is that guitar. Leo is always delivering incredibly well thought-out builds, and this slope-shoulder dreadnought is no exception. You get a woody, vintage sound and feel, with modern construction that will save you money and headaches in the long run, such as stainless steel frets that come with all of his guitars. On top of all of that, you get the satisfaction of supporting a smaller builder. Definitely give this one a try before it’s gone!

Clark Russell – Kimble Mandolins – 2003 Style H Mandola – Used
Sometimes you pick up an instrument, give it one strum, and just know that it’s of exquisite quality. That’s this Kimble Mandola here. I’ve seen plenty of customers hear that first sound and have it just envelop them, resulting in a quietly stunned “Wow.” Plenty of body, richness, and depth with lots of woody sensibilities. A true spectacle of a mandola that will certainly blow you away.

Mike Horan – Don Grosh Electric Guitars – NOS Hollow T – Lake Placid Blue – Timeworn Finish
In high school, I had a 1969 Thinline Tele with a candy-apple blue finish. I traded it for a Love Rock Les Paul, as one does when in high school. It’s the one guitar I wish I hadn’t sold. This Grosh is highly reminiscent of it, though it plays and sounds WAY better than my guitar ever did.

Isaiah Sibi – Collings Acoustic Guitars – 001A T 14-Fret – Traditional Series
A fantastic, quality instrument with a lot of volume for it’s comfortable, smaller size. Fantastic for the fingerpicking ways, while also producing great volume for flatpicking melody. This guitar could hold it’s own in a jam, and the vintage inspiration from the wood choice to bracing style the the light nitro finish really makes this guitar great.

Susan Willits – Lebeda Mandolins – 2002 M5 Mandola – Sunburst – Used
This 2002 Lebeda mandola is a lovely instrument. It plays effortlessly up and down the neck and has a beautiful, warm tone with a full low end and sustain for days. It would be wonderful for playing some Irish tunes. Built with gorgeous flamed maple, the back and sides are particularly striking. I would have to play it for a long time before I would grow tired of listening to the low end on this mandola!

Matt Kappenman – Collings Guitars – D2 A HC – Hill Country – Brazilian Rosewood
Having new Brazilian Rosewood Collings in stock is such a special moment, these are guitars I’d long imagined and it’s wonderful to have them in person here at the shop. This particular Hill Country D2A has a vintage-inspired response that makes it absolutely addicting to play. There’s a warmth and directness, with a focused low-end that reminds me of some of my favorite flatpicking guitars. The bloom to each note is particularly inviting. I have no idea for how long Collings will have Brazilian Rosewood available, but I feel extremely lucky to have this guitar here in the shop right now.
