Eric Mardis – JC Baxendale Guitars – 00-42 – Shade Top
Sometimes a guitar just blows you away. I’m a fan of smaller body guitar shapes, but I wasn’t quite ready for the amazing sound of this stunner. It really comes alive in your hands. This very special guitar is a truly elegant instrument with amazing dynamic response.

Clark Russell – Sterling by Music Man – StingRay Guitar Plus SR50X – Black
We’re welcoming Sterling by Music Man to Mass Street Music. We’ve got a myriad of instruments that we feel are superbly suited for budget-minded players needing high quality instruments with useful features. This Stingray Plus is a true workhorse at the mind-bogglingly affordable price of just $699.99. Roasted maple neck, two P90s with amazing clarity and bite Push/Push volume knob for a +12db boost, locking tuners, all in a sleek gloss black package that feels just wonderful to play.

I’m particularly excited, as a bass player, for us to be offering the venerable Stingray lineup at our store and this Intro Series Stingray couldn’t have hit the mark better. With the classic single ceramic humbucker in the bridge position, you can get a surprising amount of tones out of this build using just one volume and tone knob depending on where you play. Laid back muted lines or punchy punk rock with a pick all sound fantastic and the build itself just feels comfortable to the point where you truly WANT to pick it up, something that’s often lost on instruments at this price point. With this taste of instruments, we’re excited to be getting more in the near future as well as the parent line Music Man. Stay tuned!

Mike Horan – Collings Guitars – D1 A HC – Hill Country – Satin
Light as a feather, as responsive as can be, a fat high end. THIS is why people have been talking about Hill Countrys.

Matt Harmon – Browne Amplification – Alkene – Nashville Overdrive
Getting to hang with Dave (founder of Browne Amplification) is always a treat. During Wood Wire and Volts this year Dave slipped us the new Alkene to take home to try before the release and it only left my hands to let the other employees try it out! Thanks Dave, this one rocks!

Isaiah Sibi – Martin Acoustic Guitars – 2004 000-28B Brazilian Rosewood – #5 of 100 – Norman Blake Signature Edition
This 000-28 has a luscious, full, deep sound with every strike of the pick you present it with. Fantastic for flat picking, and a fantastic backup instrument. With a huge sound for a 000-28, the first strum on this instrument will certainly knock you back with its power. Vintage inspired, and crafted with some of Norman Blake’s own personal specifications, I’m starting to think that Mr. Blake really knew what he was doing…

Susan Willits – Leo Posch Acoustic Guitars – OM-Mahogany
We have a new OM guitar here in the shop from local builder Leo Posch. This is a beauty, with an Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back and sides, abalone diamonds and squares inlay that sparkle in the light, wood binding (my favorite binding) stainless steel frets and Waverly tuners. Leo’s guitars always pack a sonic punch, and have clear, well defined note separation and a full, resonant piano like sound. This guitar has all of that plus a warm, woody tone to top it off!

Matt KappenmanCollings Electric Guitars – City Limits Deluxe – Sherwood Green
This new City Limits Deluxe is incredible. I find myself wanting to live in the bridge pickup with a bit of dirt from the front end of a Two-Rock. The wrap-around tailpiece gives the guitar a looser feel which makes bends feel fantastic.
