We’re putting last minute touches on the place, just picked up our new coffee mugs from our buddies at Blue Collar Press and we’re anticipating a whole weekend of music and fun as we celebrate our 30th Anniversary! We’ll have some great gear on sale, but you can have a great time here without spending a dime. Our good friends at Collings Guitars and Mandolins, Taylor Guitars, D’addario, Martin, Yamaha, Skreddy, Fender and more have all contributed some great goods so we can make sure just about everyone visiting us this weekend will leave with a giveaway prize. Just check out the t shirts in the photo! Remember all the music is FREE – it’s a party!

THURSDAY
Eric S from Taylor is here Thursday, and he’s bringing some one-of-a-kind Taylors, plus lots of sweet giveaways including our favorite, the soundhole coasters – plus some Elixir strings, Taylor picks and anyone purchasing a Taylor will automatically get their beautiful 30th Anniversary book. Some of the unique guitars you can play Thursday only include a GA5766 Sinker/Asian Ebony, a GC Koa, a T3 with an orange quilted burst and many more.

FRIDAY
Friday we’ll start with an open jam led by John Dillard and friends until 2pm. Brody Buster takes the stage next (well, it’s not really a stage, it’s upstairs…) at 2pm. Our good friend Darrell Lea will play guitar at 3pm. At 5pm enjoy the gypsy jazz and more of Pickett, Paull & Jeans. The raucous Sunflower Colonels will round out the night at 6:30 with a set. And yes, that means we’ll be staying open a little later, so come on by.

SATURDAY
Saturday we’re kicking it off in high gear at 11am with New Orleans transplants Truckstop Honeymoon, followed by an open jam from 12-2pm with Paul Schmidt and friends. Bring an instrument and come check it out – all are welcome to play, or just come and enjoy. At 2pm Pat Nichols will perform his great blues and if he’s feeling good (fingers crossed) Lee McBee may join in for a bit. At 3pm we’re very excited that the great jazz guitarist Jerry Hahn will be playing, followed by our friends Scott Tichenor and Bill Crahan on mandolin and guitar. Can’t wait. Lawrence singer-songwriter extraordinaire Danny Pound plays at 5pm and the bluegrass ladies of MAW bring it home with a set starting at 6:30. All during the music we’ll be giving out some of the great items our friends at Fender, Taylor, Collings and more have sent to us to give to you, and each day we’ll have one BIG GRAND PRIZE GIVEAWAY (actually two on Saturday!).

GIVEAWAYS
Thursday we’ll be giving away a Kala Soprano Ukulele, Friday we’ll be giving away a very nice, new Fender CD60-CE acoustic guitar already outfitted with a pickup. It comes with a case too. Saturday we’ve got a beautiful solid Sitka Spruce topped Yamaha FG700S acoustic guitar to giveaway, AND that crazy cool red glitter and black Fender bar stool. We’ll have food and refreshments, and yes, even some beer along in the afternoon, so stop by, check out our renovations and say hi.
