The Folk Alliance Conference and Music Fair is on! 16 stages of music between two hotels, a music camp with teachers like Andy McKee, Bela Fleck, Redd Volkaert and Bill Kirchen, a kids music camp, film festival and much more. There’s more than just folk music at this unique event, and Mass Street Music will be there too.
It all takes place at Kansas City, Missouri’s Crown Center hotels (Westin for the conference and Sheraton for the public Music Fair). If you are anywhere in the vicinity and like music – you won’t want to miss this. Between the two hotels there are hundreds of musicians performing on stages, not to mention the hallways, corridors and lobbies.
Visit Mass Street Music in the Exhibition Hall at the Sheraton all week, alongside other music retailers, organizations like the Midwest Music Foundation, the Mills Record Company, Taylor Guitars and more. You’ll also find Mass Street Music rocking out on Friday night at the Sheraton in the Van Horn room as we showcase Lawrence bands with our Lawrence KS Live stage from 7pm to midnight! We couldn’t do it alone and have Silly Goose Records, MudStomp Records, the Farmer’s Turnpike radio KMXN and special friends Free State Brewing Company to thank for helping show the diversity and awesome talents of just a few of Lawrence’s great bands.
We’ll be there, so stop by, say hello, follow us on Twitter at #LFKlive & #FAI2015 and hear MAW, Ashes to Immortality, Carswell & Hope, Nicholas St. James, Tyler Gregory, Brody Buster, 40 Watt Dreams and No Magic – something for everyone! If you can’t make the conference, are a world away (John A!) you can also experience it virtually…seriously, for $25. Ticket to attend the Music Fair are available at Eventbrite here and are just $25 per day or evening. See you there!
