Josh Baldridge – Mass Street Music
Note: April 30th marks longtime Mass Street Sales Manager and Luthier Josh Baldridge’s last day here at the store. As such here is his Staff Pick.
I pick Mass Street Music. My first guitar was hanging on the racks here when I was in college, and it started my adventures into luthiery as well as retail. The Mass Street Music family welcomed me into the fold in 2003. Over the years I have been lucky to work with some incredible individuals.
Fairly often people, will tell me that this music store is the best around. My reply has always been, “Yes we are, because we have the best customers too.” All of the work that we put into this place makes it fun for you, but you are what makes the store fun for us.
This has always been and will continue to be my favorite music store around.
To say Josh will be missed around here is an understatement. That said, we’re excited to introduce the newest member of our team, Kyle Ralston!
Kyle Ralston – Fender Amps – ’68 Custom Princeton Reverb Reissue
One of my favorites for at home or playing out! This re-issue has the same features as the originals that made it a timeless classic. Included is a two button foot switch for reverb and vibrato as well as a fitted cover. Not only that, it’s completely left-handed compatible!

Jim Baggett – Collings Acoustic Guitars – CJ-45 A T
A dry, focused guitar with a really strong fundamental. This is a great sounding addition to the Traditional lineup.

Matt Pelsma – Gibson Electric Guitars – 1967 ES-330 TDC
This guitar is a rare find that only comes through the shop every so often. A super resonant, bright and powerful sounding guitar to hold in your hands!

Brian Soden – Jackson Audio – Golden Boy
We just got this drive in the shop and I’m really digging it! The Golden Boy is rich and clear with an almost hi-def character and sensitivity. The independent MOSFET boost fills things out nicely for solos and fills. My favorite feature is the ability to cycle through four different clipping stages hands-free making “on the fly” changes a breeze during songs. Lots of versatility in this one! I dig it!

Mike Horan – Martin Acoustic Guitars – D-18E 2020 – Limited Edition (LR Baggs Electronics)
Good sounding dreadnought with an LR Baggs already installed.

Trey Durkin – Fender Basses – 1974 Precision Bass – Natural – Used
This is the sweetest bass we have had in the shop in a while. Well balanced in hand, with the thump that we’ve heard on countless classic recordings. I was particularly impressed by the playability on this bass. This may be the best example of a vintage bass neck I have ever seen. The perfect amount of relief, with absolutely zero tongue rise (which is a small miracle on vintage basses.) This is all luthier talk for: It plays really well, up to the last fret. Come check it out!

Susan Willits – Leo Posch Acoustic Guitars – 00-RW
It’s great fun to play a small body guitar with such a big sound! This Leo Posch 00-RW packs a punch when you dig in and has sweet tones if you want to lay back and do some fingerpicking. Made with Indian rosewood and a sitka top, this guitar features a clam shell bridge, slotted headstock, striking purfling and stainless steel frets.

Matt Kappenman – Don Grosh Guitars – Hollow ElectraJet – Aged Cherry
This ElectraJet is something special. The semi-hollow design, paired with the bigsby makes for an open, expressive guitar with the snap and snarl of Don’s G-90s. This guitar begs to be picked up and played!
