Humidify Your Instruments

The temps are dropping here in Lawrence this week and that means it’s time to revisit our tips for keeping your instruments humidified. While the Repair Shop is REALLY good at fixing top cracks, we hate to see good wood go dry. During the winter months lack of moisture in the air can not only lead to top cracks, but binding and braces can come loose, frets can pop out of the fingerboard and the lacquer finish on your instrument can shrink and start to check. Keeping an eye on the humidity is good practice for acoustic AND electric players if you’re in a dry environment. Head on over to the blog to read more, or reach out to our crew about proper instrument maintenance.
